Russ Olsen's Five Truths About Code Optimization

I've written a little bit about debugging in earlier posts, and just came across a closely-related subject ... Five Truths About Code Optimization in Russ Olsen's weblog quite a nice summary therefore most worthy of a reference here. Whether it's Java or any other development language, these five principles apply equally well.

But you'd better not visit his weblog, else you'll be enticed into spending time reading some of his other valuable posts, such as Three Languages For Java Programmers and The Same Mistakes, Over And Over not to forget The Secrets of Software Project Estimation -- so, be warned!
